Spinach Cream Cheese Roll Ups

This season is all about tradition, isn’t it? Whether it’s making 12 dozen cookies for the holidays, going ice skating with your family, or doing something crazy like running 9 miles in the freezing cold early morning, there is tradition everywhere.

We runners understand the crazy tradition I mentioned above. There are some who have exercise at the back of their minds during the holiday season, and then there are others who go out, brave the cold, and run long, long, long distances. And yes, we do it for fun! Yesterday I just ran a 15k race, which is 9.3 miles. It was cold but gorgeously sunny. I was still getting over a cold, but I loved every single minute. Please tell me someone else can relate to this? 🙂

Running isn’t our family’s only tradition. Making gingerbread houses with friends, making Christmas cookies at home, or going and visiting family are all things we love to do! Oh, and I almost forgot-Christmas movies. Yes, they are so predictable, but starting a few weeks before Thanksgiving, I can’t resist watching them. So after long days, our family will sit back, relax, and watch a cheesy Christmas movie, probably while eating a yummy snack.

If you’ve ever read any of our posts before, you would know that our family LOVES easy, simple, and amazing recipes. I mean, who doesn’t? This recipe is yet another one of those, and one that went over quite well with the kids in our house. It uses Pillsbury® Garlic Butter Crescents that you can easily find at Walmart. Spread on a mixture of garden vegetable cream cheese, cheddar cheese and a bit of fresh spinach. (Trust me…the kids won’t even care that green vegetable is in there!)

The aroma of the garlic butter crescents baking, along with the melted cheese as they come out of the oven is amazing. You’ll want to dig right in and they’ll be so hot you can barely chew. These little spinach cream cheese roll ups were made 4 times within just 2 days and were easily devoured in just 5 minutes flat each time.

One thing I love about this recipe is the fact that it’s an easy way to get veggies. It’s not much, I know, but this recipe is very flexible so adding more spinach or leftover turkey wouldn’t hurt at all. The possibilities of these Pillsbury® Garlic Butter Crescents are endless.

This Thanksgiving, let these Spinach Cream Cheese Roll Ups be a new tradition (or a twist on an old favorite, because really…who doesn’t love crescent rolls already?) in your house. Eat them for an appetizer, snack, quick lunch on-the-go, or even as a side dish alongside the big turkey dinner.

However you choose, you’ll love ’em!

I would eat the entire plateful if I was left alone with them. They look scrumptious.

Although I can’t really relate happiness and running together, this recipe looks delicious and I love the spinach and cheese combination- I’m tempted to get that in a croissant now!
