Hot Ham and Swiss Croissants

I often talk about how recipes bring back certain memories and these hot ham and swiss croissants are definitely comfort food from the past for me. I don’t remember having hot ham and swiss often, but when we did, I loved it. Most likely because, cheese. I hadn’t made them in years and thought it was about time.

With school and sports schedules being as busy as ever, I need quick dinners to have ready for my kids when they get home from practice. These sandwiches are perfect because I can make them up in the morning (when I have energy and motivation), wrap them in foil and pop them in the fridge until it is time to put them in the oven. The only take about 15 minutes to bake which makes them an easy last-minute meal.

Serve the sandwiches alongside a salad and some fresh fruit and you’re set to go.

The croissants give the sandwiches an elegant look. Don’t have croissants? Use hamburger buns or even leftover dinner rolls. Just don’t forget the honey mustard sauce. It makes the cheesy sandwich melt in your mouth!
