Pineapple Cream Tropical Smoothie

Hot, summer days + trying to eat smarter = fruit smoothies for this family. We like running or biking with the kids and it never fails while we are out that the kids request a fruit smoothie for a snack afterwards.

Pineapple Smoothie Recipe

This simple smoothie recipe is one of our favorites.Let me get right to the point today and tell you about the flavors in this refreshing summer drink. As you probably guessed from the title, the main flavor is pineapple. I am pineapple crazy and I almost always have at least one pineapple sitting in the kitchen waiting to be devoured.  Kinslee is a girl after my own heart. If I start cutting into a pineapple, you can guess that she is right there, waiting to get her fair share. To make this recipe simple, I used DOLE® Canned 100% Pineapple Juice. Now I can drink this juice straight from the can. It’s exotic and refreshing. Serious goodness here, I’m telling you. But it is so versatile and ideal to add to smoothies and other recipes (can you imagine a tangy chicken marinade made with pineapple juice? Hmmm…:)).

Dairy Free Vegan Smoothie Recipe

For the smoothie, I paired this pineapple juice with some orange juice concentrate to have a mix of tropical flavors. Then I added in cashew milk. Why cashew milk? We wanted a dairy free smoothie, but still craved that creamy texture that milk gives. Feel free to use your favorite type of milk (almond, soy, coconut, or cow’s milk if you don’t need vegan). Vanilla Smoothie

The last thing that gets added in is a touch of vanilla. Sound weird? Trust me…it’s wonderful. It makes the flavors come together and pop. Your taste buds will be jumping for joy! Blend all of these ingredients together in a blender along with crushed ice. In our blender, it took just 10 seconds before we had the perfect, slushy texture.

Looks like a refreshing drink for your summer parties, right?  Pineapple Cream Tropical Smoothie. You’ll love it!

Looks delicious! Be careful if you try a pineapple marinade though. Fresh pineapple juice contains an enzyme that basically turns meat to mush. Glazes and sauces are fine, but if you marinade in pineapple juice, you may get a nasty surprise.
