In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and cloves. Whisk together.
Add the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture alternately with the milk. Mix well after each addition.
Fold in the raisins, candied fruit and nuts.
Spread in a greased shallow baking pan that is 10x13”.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes or until the center is set.
Allow the bars to cool on a wire rack.
Make the Frosting:
In a bowl, use a hand mixer to cream together the cream cheese and butter.
Add the sugar, vanilla and milk. Mix until smooth.
Spread frosting over cooled bars.
Sprinkle with chopped pecans if desired.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Remove the bars 2 hours before serving if you don't want them cold.
