Breakfast was never easier or more family friendly than with this Hawaiian Roll French Toast Casserole. It's delicious with a drizzle of maple syrup and fresh blueberries.
Preheat the oven to 350º Fahrenheit. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray. Slice the rolls into 1" cubes. Place the bread evenly in the prepared pan. 12 ounces King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Whisk until the eggs are broken up and well combined with the other ingredients. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread. 8 large eggs, 1 1/2 cups 2%milk, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract, 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Place the topping ingredients in a medium bowl. Use a pastry cutter or two knives to cut the butter into the topping. Do this until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the streusel over the casserole. 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 3 tablespoons salted butter
Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 20 minutes covered. Then uncover and bake an additional 25 minutes or until the center is set.
Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with fresh berries. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
If you only have unsalted butter, add a dash of salt to the topping.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
