Deviled Eggs with Bacon Recipe
Easter is coming though and the easiest way to use up some of those leftover eggs is in deviled eggs. My kids eat them plain, but when we make deviled eggs with bacon? That just makes them get eaten even more quickly.
Today we’re sharing our tips to make deviled eggs as quickly and easily as possible.
How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs that Peel Easily
A few days ago we shared our favorite way to make easy hard boiled eggs…eggs that peel easily. That method is the Instant Pot 5-5-5 Method.
What is the 5-5-5 method? 5 minutes high pressure, 5 minutes natural release, 5 minutes ice cold water.
-
Place a trivet, basket or egg rack in the bottom of the Instant Pot liner.
-
Add the water.
-
Place eggs into the basket or trivet.
-
Close lid and set to sealing. Press manual high pressure for 5 minutes.
-
Allow the pressure to naturally release for 5 minutes.
-
Quick release any remaining pressure after 5 minutes.
-
Open the pot and place the eggs in a bowl of ice water.
-
Allow the eggs to sit in ice water for 5 minutes. Then remove them, dry them and peel them.
That’s all it takes to make easy-to-peel eggs.
How do you make deviled egg yolks smooth?
If your goal is ultra smooth and silky egg yolks, you’ll want to squeeze the egg yolks through a mesh sieve or a food mill. If you don’t care if it is 100% smooth you can use a hand mixer or just a rubber spatula to mash the egg yolks.
How do you make deviled eggs?
-
Cut each egg in half. Place the yolk into a small bowl and put the egg whites to the side.
-
Into the small bowl with the yolk, add remaining ingredients except for the bacon. Mix ingredients together.
-
How do you easily fill deviled eggs? Take egg yolk mixture and place into a sandwich bag. Cut the corner, and gently fill the cavity of each egg white. This is really a no-mess method. Just throw away the plastic bag once you are done.
-
Top each egg with crumbled bacon right before serving.
-
Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container.
How much ahead of time can I make deviled eggs?
You can make deviled eggs up to 2 days in advance. You’ll want to eat up any leftovers after about 3 days. Be sure to keep deviled eggs refrigerated.
