Throw together a party appetizer everyone will love! These easy BBQ Lil Smokies take less than 10 minutes prep and have a deliciously sweet barbecue flavor.

With two guys in the house, every now and then I have to surprise them with something I know they’ll love. And these bbq little smokies are what I made for them over the Christmas holiday.

I like them because they are quick…they love them because, well…they are meat 😂 Whether it is a party, game day or just an afternoon snack, mix up these easy bbq little smokies!

How to Make Easy BBQ Lil Smokies

We use our small crockpot for this recipe. It’s 2 ½ quarts and perfect for appetizers of all kinds!

  • Mix the bbq sauce, jelly, ketchup and garlic right in the slow cooker.
  • Add the smokies and mix well to coat.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until heated through.

Recipe Variations:

  • Add in cayenne pepper or hot sauce for spice.
  • Use a chipotle bbq sauce.
  • Use cranberry sauce or apricot jelly in place of the grape jelly.
  • Meatballs are just as good as smokies! Swap them out for each other or use a mix of both.
  • Chili sauce is a great option too!

How long do little smokies last in the fridge?

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.

What do you eat with little smokies?

Most times when we have little smokies they are at a party where the table is full of appetizers such as buffalo chicken dip, veggie pizzas, taco pizza and smoked mozzarella fonduta. If you want to serve these as a meal, try them with:

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup honey barbecue sauce
  • 3/4 cup grape jelly
  • 1/4 cup ketchup*
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 28 ounces Eckrich Li’l Smokies 2 packages

Instructions
 

  • Mix the bbq sauce, jelly, ketchup and garlic right in the slow cooker.
  • Add the smokies and mix well to coat.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until heated through.

  • If you don’t like the taste of ketchup, use all barbecue sauce instead.
