This Triple Berry Fruit Dip is a lighter patriotic dessert that you can serve with cut out pie crust, vanilla wafers, or pretzels.
Who loves fluffy, light, fruit filled desserts? If you said, “Yes!”, this dessert is for you.
A few weeks ago we shared Fluffy Tropical Fruit Dip with Rebecca over on Simple As That. That dip was inspired by one of our favorite, most classic recipes, the Pineapple Sunset Layer Cake. If you’ve never made that cake, you’ll want to find a time to make it and share it with friends. Or maybe not share it, but anyway, you need to try it. It’s that good. The light frosting on that cake is my favorite part.
With July 4th just around the corner and berries ripening all around us, I knew I needed to try a patriotic version of that same frosting.
This Triple Berry Fruit Dip is simply just a few ingredients. Vanilla pudding, Cool Whip and berries. Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries to be exact.
Whenever I have a fluffy, pudding dessert, I always think of pie crust. Most likely because of my extreme love of pudding pies. When I thought of making this dip, I knew right away that I needed to make some stars out of pie crust to scoop up the dip with. Pure and delightful enjoyment there.
If you’d like, you can use vanilla wafers, pretzels or if you’d like to be healthy, you can use other pieces of fruit. Or just eat it by the spoonful, which is what we did after the pie crust stars were gone.
This can also be a great Weight Watchers dessert if you use sugar free vanilla pudding and fat free or light Cool Whip. I’m not sure the pie crust stars fit the Weight Watchers plan, but that’s where a spoon can come in handy. 🙂
