This 10 minute, 4 ingredient Oreo Fluff dessert dip will be the star of your next party. Can be made low calorie and gluten free.
We’ve all been there. Friends come over, kids drop in, you forget to grab something for your church gathering…and you’re left wondering, what is something quick and easy that I can fix for them?
This Oreo Fluff dessert is the answer. Some call it “Oreo Salad” which I have to laugh at. There’s nothing “salad-y” about this (even though midwesterners may like to think so). It’s more like a dessert dip. Fluffy, sweet and so delicious!
Why you’ll love this recipe:
- No more than 10 minutes needed to make this from start to finish.
- Only 4 ingredients that you can easily keep on hand for last minute treats.
- Option for making it into a fluffy dessert parfait.
- And you can even make it low calorie. 😋
What is Oreo fluff made of?
What in the world is “fluff”? Similar to our fluff jello salad (again, not very salad-y), fluff desserts generally have whipped cream or Cool Whip, sometimes pudding and sometimes whipped cream cheese.
This recipe has just 4 ingredients: milk, pudding, Cool Whip and Oreos.
How do you make Oreo fluff?
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk and the two boxes of pudding until well combined (about 2 minutes). Allow the pudding to set for 5 minutes.
- Fold in the Cool Whip.
- Divide the Oreos in half. Chop half of the Oreo cookies on a cutting board by cutting them in quarters. Place the remaining cookies in a plastic zippered bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. This will give you two different types of cookie crumbs, some larger and some smaller.
- Reserve ½ cup of Oreo crumbs for topping, then combine the rest of the cookie crumbs into the pudding mix.
- Serve the Oreo fluff in a bowl with the reserved cookie crumbs sprinkled on top.
What can you use to dip in Oreo fluff? Graham crackers, pretzels, more Oreo cookies, strawberries or vanilla wafers are all great options.
Low Calorie Version
Looking for something a little more calorie friendly? Use low fat Cool Whip, skim milk and sugar free pudding mix. This will greatly reduce the fat and calorie content of the recipe. You can use fresh berries to dip in instead of crackers or cookies.
Storage Instructions
Store this dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can make it in advance, but know that the longer it sits, the softer the Oreos will become. You could wait to add the crushed Oreos until right before serving if you’d like them a little crunchier.
Can you freeze Oreo fluff? This does not freeze the best. If you have leftovers that you can’t eat right away, you could put any leftovers in little paper cups with a popsicle stick and freeze for homemade pudding pops.
Recipe Variations
- Make a mint version using mint Oreo cookies.
- Add softened, creamed cream cheese for dip that is a little sturdier and creamier rather than fluffy.
- Use gluten free Oreos for a gluten free version (and be sure to check the back of your pudding box for gluten ingredients as well.)
- Add mini marshmallows if you need this dip to fill a bigger bowl.
- Want to use real whipped cream instead of Cool Whip? Use about 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and about ⅓ cup of powdered sugar. Whip it all together in a stand mixer on high speed until it holds peaks.
