Flip Flops and Sunshine.
Really, November?
Thanksgiving is only one week away and we’re expecting 70 degrees this week here in Ohio.
Now I’m not complaining. I’ll take 70 and sunny anytime of the year. In fact, looking into the next week, it looks like the bottom is falling out on the temperatures. I’m sure we’ll be cozy under blankets in front of the fire in no time.
Spiced Cranberry Apple Cider
When those cool temperatures do blow in, you can bet I want a hot drink in my hands. One of my favorite holiday drink recipes is spiced cranberry apple cider.
Slightly tangy, a little sweet…full of the flavors that whisper “Christmas”.
In under 20 minutes you’ll be keeping warm with a tangy spiced cranberry apple cider.
Mulled Cider Recipe Notes
This spiced cranberry apple cider recipe is versatile. You can:
- Simmer the mulled cider in your crockpot all day if you’d like (no candle needed for a fragrant home!).
- Adjust the amount of sugar to make it healthier.
- Add more white or brown sugar if you’d like it sweeter. We prefer the cider a little tangy, so we go easy on the sugar.
- Use whole cinnamon sticks, allspice and cloves while the cider is simmering, then strain out those spices for a smooth, sweet drink.
Have some cranberries on hand? Throw a couple in the top of the cups for a holiday look. Your guests will think you spent hours on this cranberry apple cider, but you’ll know the secret. 😉
Don’t wait for those snowflakes. It could be awhile.
Cozy up with this hot drink recipe tonight!

Could you replace apple cider with regular apple juice?
Could this recipe be chilled and have the same overall taste or is it one of those drinks that changes flavor as it cools? (I find yea, water, cocoas, and coffees have different flavors at different temperatures) I live in Louisiana and I’m trying to bring something unique, but refreshing to the holiday.
Every winter we serve this hot, in our slow cooker. I think everyone will be going nuts over it this year, because of your wonderful recipe. Its sounds amazing .
