This Perfect Pizza Sauce is a quick and easy homemade recipe. Make a big batch…the leftovers can be frozen to use another time!
Happy Friday, Everyone!
Friday nights are the “It’s the weekend, let’s party!” night in our house.
On Friday nights, we generally make delicious homemade pizza and settle down to a movie.
I’d guess you’d agree with me that not all homemade pizzas are created equally. In the past, my mom has hunted for the perfect sauce and crust recipes. We’ve had some success…and some…well…not so much successes. She stumbled across this Perfect Pizza Sauce recipe years ago and this was the pizza sauce we finally settled on. It’s the perfect blend of spices, tomato flavor, and sweetness for our family. My guess is that you will like it, too!
First, pour the puree and all of the spices into a saucepan and mix. Easy, right?
Turn it on medium heat until it starts bubbling. Turn down the heat to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
There you have it! Your very own extrordinary pizza sauce!!!
I’ve told you that I’m a somewhat picky eater, right? I’m not one for chunks of veggies in my sauce, so this smooth, flavorful sauce is perfect in my book.
This recipe can be easily altered to your liking.
Too sweet? Add less sugar.
Not thick enough? Use extra thick tomato puree.
Do you like chunks in your sauce? Add a can of diced tomatos, without the juice.
Another benefit of this recipe is that it is not just for pizza. We love using this recipe to dip cheesesticks or breadsticks in.
