I’ve had a bag of bite-size Peanut Butter Snickers sitting in my cupboard since July.  Can you believe it?  5 months went by and I didn’t tear open the bag in a moment of weakness and eat them all in one sitting.

I think I deserve an award.

One of the reasons I left those little chocolaty squares alone is because I had a plan for them.

We love making candies at Christmas time, almost more than baking.  Almost.

It’s rare that I can turn down a piece of chocolate candy, but I have been known to turn down cookies before.  There’s just something about milk chocolate that I have a hard time saying no to!

I knew I wanted to make a simple sweet and salty treat with these Peanut Butter Snickers candies. These Peanut Butter Snickers Sandwiches fixed that craving!

Here’s how you can whip them up quickly:

1.  Place Ritz crackers down on a cookie sheet and place an unwrapped bite-size Snickers on top of each cracker.

2.  Place them in an oven that has been preheated to 35o degrees and let them bake for about 5 minutes, or until the Snickers start to get melty.  Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and place another Ritz cracker over top the candy.  Press down slightly to make a sandwich.

3.  Now…you can leave them as they are and gobble them by the handful.  Or, you can dip them in chocolate for an extra special chocolate layer.  We prefer dipping them in chocolate.  In order to do this, melt a bag of chocolate chips, almond bark, Candiquik, or Hershey’s bars in a double boiler.  Once the chocolate is completely melted, use a fork to dip and completely cover the cracker sandwich in chocolate. Place it on a cookie sheet that has been covered in wax paper.  While the chocolate is still hot, you can sprinkle holiday colored sprinkles on top.
